My first passion was in clay sculpture. It was my dream!!! There is nothing more soothing than listening to classical music with a glob of malleable clay in your hands ready to spring forth into the object of your imagination. Unfortunately I wasn't ever able to successfully find or afford a place suitable for firing clay and controlling the harmful dust you do not want in your house. My stuff kept getting messed up at community art centers and so my kiln sat collecting dust for years! As a stay at home mother working part time I was in need of a creative outlet and a way to contribute more when I discovered the beautiful art of wire sculpting.

I used to think of jewelry making as simply beading and braiding until one day I came across some sculpted wire wrapped pendants on the web and I was completely amazed. At the time I didn't even wear pendants and yet I gained a new respect for handcrafting jewelry. The artist in me went a little nuts trying to figure out how they were made. When I couldn't figure it out on my own I went to the local library for books and ordered videos. I studied this ancient art of wire wrapping with glee! Well one interest led to another and I gained a desire to learn all kinds of different forms and techniques in jewelry design, not really getting stuck on one thing. I love it all! This is how the diverse & one of a kind selection of the Jade Dragonfly was born. I get to do what I love to do & I think everyone should be so blessed!
